2020 Fall Cohort League Information

Oct. 04, 2020

We are excited to start our season in the next week.  There are a few things for you to know and understand in this season based on information provided by EYBA.  It will not look like previous years, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we try to ensure our players are able to play basketball this year.  Please be aware that information can change quickly, and we will do our best to keep you up to date.

Teams:

Your team will be a maximum of 2 adults and 10 players.  You will be in a cohort with 3 other teams from NEBA and other EYBA leagues.  We have been requested to make these teams even - there are no divisions or chance to move cohorts during the season.

Season:

The season will run from Oct 17, 2020 to Dec 12, 2020.  Your team will play on 4 Saturdays during this season (approximately every second weekend).  In each session your team will play 2 modified games within a 3-hour session.  The team is asked to remain in the gymnasium during the 3-hour cohort session.  Your child must arrive for the beginning of the cohort play, even if they are not the first game in the cohort.

The fall 2020 cohort season schedule is posted on the EYBA website under the Fall 2020 schedules tab.

Support:

No spectators are allowed in the facilities at this time.  Your coach is responsible for the players for the duration of the cohort play, including coaching and monitoring between gameplay.

COVID:

Due to requirements for contact tracing and safety, an attendance log of the players will be kept for the season.  Players must bring a signed Daily Attestation Waiver to each game and practice, or they will not be allowed to participate.  These documents must be kept for the season and returned with your equipment at the end of the season.  NEBA will destroy them after the appropriate retention as advised by Return to Play Guidelines.

The facilities will be sanitized between each cohort play.

Players must wear masks in the facilities, but may be unmasked for game time.  Coaches must remain masked.

Practice time:

NEBA has been allocated some time at the Saville on Wednesday and Friday evenings between 6pm and 10pm.  We have allocated it to our teams as evenly as possible. Please see the attached schedule for October and November/December.
